Abstract
The Valley Union Education Society was in charge of the Female Seminary at Botetourt Springs, which would become Hollins Institute in 1855. In 1901, the institute was switched to private ownership through the CLC Corporation. After 1910, Hollins Institute became Hollins College. The CLC Corporation was headed by a Board of Govenors. Abstract
This collection contains the historical files and publication run of the Hollins Critic, a student publication created with the support of the Hollins University English Department. The Hollins Critic ran for 70 issues, ending in 2023 after the death in early 2023 of Senior Editor Richard Dillard.
