Abstract
The Valley Union Education Society was in charge of the Female Seminary at Botetourt Springs, which would become Hollins Institute in 1855. In 1901, the institute was switched to private ownership through the CLC Corporation. After 1910, Hollins Institute became Hollins College. The CLC Corporation was headed by a Board of Govenors. The return to public began 1927 and was finalized 1932, and the Board of Govenors became the Board of Trustees. This collection holds minutes and supplemental documents pertaining to the various versions of the boards, as well as documents relating to the transfer of ownership from public to private and back to public.
